"Libyan Conservative Islamists has burned down a historical library that contains thousands of rare books, on Saturday 25 August, according to a Libyan military official.
The conservative Islamists used grenades and loaders to destroy the library, which was attached to a mosque and a shrine of one of the Sufi figures in Libya that dates back to the 15th Century at the city of Zliten. The Shrine was destroyed too, as it was hailed by them as a prohibited religious shrine."
